With the Demand Planning and Supply Planning Optimizer functionalities, businesses can leverage advanced forecasting algorithms and optimization tools to generate accurate demand forecasts and align them with an optimized supply plan. The IBP solution enables the creation of actionable supply plans that balance inventory availability with customer demand, reducing stockouts and excess inventory, and improving overall supply chain efficiency.

As part of the initiative, we will refine key processes within Demand Planning and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), enhancing the accuracy of demand forecasts and aligning them more effectively with production and inventory planning. This will involve the implementation of advanced forecasting models, demand sensing, and more dynamic adjustments to sales and supply plans based on market trends, customer requirements, and real-time data.
The project also focuses on improving the S&OP process, enabling better collaboration across departments—sales, finance, and operations—to align demand and supply forecasts with business objectives. By streamlining these processes, businesses can achieve more accurate forecasts, better alignment between supply and demand, and ultimately, improved decision-making.
 
Additionally, a critical part of this transformation is the implementation of Tax Efficient Supply Chain strategies. This ensures compliance with local and international tax regulations while optimizing intercompany transfers, billing processes, and vendor payments. This integration ensured that production activities are aligned with demand forecasts and inventory levels, reducing the risk of overproduction or stockouts.
 
Additionally, the solution incorporated Quality Management (QM) with Batch Management, enabling the business to enforce strict quality controls throughout the manufacturing process. This project required the extension of the SABMiller Global Template to the Czech Republic and Slovakia, encompassing all key areas of Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Management (WM). The goal was to standardize and optimize business processes while ensuring full alignment with the global template, providing a consistent and integrated approach across the organization’s operations.
 
For Demand Planning (DP), data was sourced from external systems, ensuring that accurate and up-to-date demand signals were integrated into the SAP environment. This integration allowed for seamless data flow from various sources, facilitating precise forecasting and alignment between demand and supply across different regions.
 
Additionally, Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) was handled through Infor, which was fully integrated with SAP to create a unified, end-to-end planning solution. This integration ensured that supply and production plans were optimized, taking into account real-time capacity constraints, lead times, and material availability. By aligning APS with the broader SAP ecosystem, the business achieved improved production scheduling, better resource utilization, and more efficient decision-making across the supply chain.
 
The solution also integrated Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and the Global Laboratory Information Management System (GLIMS), ensuring that production data, including consumption, batch tracking, and quality results, were seamlessly captured and transmitted in real-time. MES integration allows for better visibility into shop floor operations, improving process control, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency. By connecting GLIMS with SAP, the business maintained strict quality control across production batches, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining product consistency.
 
A custom Manufacturing User Interface (UI) was developed to enhance the user experience on the shop floor, providing plant operatives with an intuitive interface to manage production processes more effectively. The custom UI was designed to simplify data entry, improve access to critical information, and support decision-making at all levels of production, reducing the potential for human error and increasing operational efficiency.
 
The extension of the SABMiller Global Template to the Czech Republic and Slovakia not only ensured consistency in supply chain and manufacturing operations across the region but also drove efficiency, improved compliance, and enhanced the accuracy of demand and supply planning. This project focused on optimizing Demand and Supply Planning for the Burberry Beauty business, with a strong emphasis on improving collaboration and forecasting accuracy across the entire supply chain. The solution included a robust framework for regional distributor collaborative forecasting, ensuring that all parties involved—both internal teams and external distributors—were aligned on demand signals, market trends, and promotional activities. This collaborative approach enhanced the accuracy of the demand plan, reducing the risk of stockouts or excess inventory and improving overall supply chain efficiency.
 
In addition to collaborative forecasting, the project integrated a regimented and standardized Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, where demand and supply plans were carefully reviewed and aligned across functions, including sales, finance, and supply chain. This structured process ensured that all departments were working toward the same business objectives, while executive sign-off at key stages of the S&OP cycle ensures that decisions were made at the highest level, fostering accountability and ensuring alignment with corporate goals. The process included regular cross-functional meetings and reviews to monitor performance against targets and make necessary adjustments to the plan as market conditions evolve.
 
A critical component of the project was the integration of third-party manufacturing into the supply planning process. By collaborating closely with contract manufacturers, the business ensured that external production capacities, lead times, and quality standards were aligned with the overall supply chain objectives. This integration helped to optimize production schedules, reduced lead times, and improved communication across the supply chain, ensuring that the Burberry Beauty business responded more effectively to changing demand patterns and production requirements.
 
To further enhance supply chain flexibility and responsiveness, the project implemented Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) for both short-term and long-term supply planning. DDMRP allows for more dynamic and responsive planning by focusing on real-time demand signals, inventory buffers, and lead times. This approach enabled the business to quickly adjust to fluctuations in demand, while still maintaining optimal stock levels. DDMRP provided a more granular and agile approach to managing the flow of goods, reducing the risk of overstocking or understocking, and ensuring that the right products are available at the right time.
 
In summary, the Demand and Supply Planning solution for Burberry Beauty integrated collaborative forecasting, a structured S&OP process with executive involvement, and a flexible approach to third-party manufacturing and DDMRP. These improvements lead to enhanced forecast accuracy, better alignment across functions, optimized production scheduling, and a more responsive and agile supply chain. The end result is a more efficient and cost-effective supply chain that is capable of meeting the demands of the market while supporting the continued growth of the Burberry Beauty brand

The implementation included integrations with multiple external systems to support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data, including Bill of Materials (BoM) information, ensuring that production planning is based on the most up-to-date and accurate product specifications. By connecting SAP ECC with PLM systems, all relevant product design and engineering data was seamlessly transferred into the production planning process, enabling faster, more accurate decision-making and reducing the risk of errors due to outdated or incomplete information.
 
Additionally, the project integrated SAP ECC with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure real-time visibility and control over the production floor. MES orders were synchronized with SAP ECC to provide accurate and up-to-date information on the status of production activities, inventory levels, and work in progress. This integration allowed for greater alignment between production planning and execution, reducing downtime, optimizing resource allocation, and improving overall throughput.
 
To ensure that the project was delivered in a timely and efficient manner, an Agile delivery methodology was employed. This approach allowed for iterative development, continuous feedback, and flexibility in adapting to changing business needs. By working in short, focused cycles (sprints), the project team was able to quickly implement and test new features, making improvements and adjustments as necessary based on user feedback and evolving requirements.
 
The successful implementation of SAP ECC for Production Planning and Execution, combined with the integration of external systems for PLM and MES, enabled Rolls-Royce Control Systems to enhance production efficiency, improve visibility across the supply chain, and ensure that manufacturing operations were fully aligned with engineering and design specifications. The UI ensured seamless integration and usability, allowing for efficient management of configurable materials from the initial sales order through to production and final delivery. By using SAP UI5, the solution provided a modern, responsive interface that aligns with business needs, simplifies complex workflows, and reduced manual intervention, making the system more user-friendly and improved adoption across the organization.
 
Furthermore, the implementation involved connecting SAP ECC with approximately 200 Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), enabling seamless real-time data exchange between the production floor and enterprise systems. This integration ensured that production data was accurately captured and updated in real time, providing up-to-date visibility into manufacturing operations, inventory levels, and work in progress. By linking the MES to SAP ECC, the business ensured tighter coordination between sales, production, and delivery, reduce lead times, improve quality control, and minimize production errors.
 
The system supported the end-to-end flow of configurable materials, starting with the sales order, where customer-specific requirements were captured. These orders were then seamlessly passed to production, where materials are uniquely configured and then produced based on customer needs, and finally to delivery, ensuring that the right product is manufactured and delivered on time, every time. The solution's end-to-end integration facilitated smoother workflows and minimized the chances of errors or delays, while improving transparency at each step of the process.
 
Overall, the implementation of SAP ECC, along with the customized UI5 interface and the integration of around 200 MES systems, provided a future-proof solution that transformed the organization's operations, aligning them with modern, industry-standard practices. This resulted in greater operational efficiency, enhanced user experience, and improved decision-making through real-time data visibility. The migration from legacy systems to SAP ECC empowered the organization to stay competitive in the market by offering greater agility, flexibility, and scalability, all while maintaining high-quality standards and reducing operational risks

By leveraging Put-to-Light technology, we improved the accuracy and speed of warehouse operations, particularly in the picking and dispatch processes. Put-to-Light systems direct warehouse operators to the correct location by illuminating specific bins or shelves, which significantly reduces picking errors and increases throughput, all while maintaining real-time visibility of inventory levels. This technology enhanced the overall efficiency of standard SAP WM functions, enabling a more streamlined and automated warehouse environment.
 
Additionally, a fully customized User Interface (UI) was developed to further accelerate warehouse processing. The UI was designed with a user-centric approach, simplifying complex workflows and optimizing user experience. By providing intuitive and efficient screens, it ensured that warehouse staff could quickly navigate through tasks such as order picking, inventory management, and dispatch allocation, reducing processing times and minimizing the chance of human error. The customized UI was tailored to meet specific operational needs, enabling faster decision-making and greater overall productivity.
 
The integrated solution was designed to optimize the allocation of picking resources by streamlining the despatch process. As orders are received, the system dynamically allocates picking tasks based on real-time warehouse conditions, ensuring that the right products are picked, packed, and shipped as efficiently as possible. This approach helped to minimize delays, reduce bottlenecks, and improve service levels, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction.

Moreover, the system was fully integrated with other key enterprise systems, including SAP ERP, to provide end-to-end visibility and coordination across supply chain processes. By connecting warehouse operations to procurement, inventory, and sales modules, the solution ensured that stock levels were always accurate, orders were fulfilled on time, and the supply chain was synchronized.
